What we collect

  • Your problem description and photos, when you use the diagnosis or quote checker. These are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate your answer and stored by us to improve the service.
  • Your contact details (name, phone, email, postcode), only if you submit them asking for quotes or leave them on the trades page.
  • Basic technical data (IP address, rough usage counts) to run fair-use limits and keep the free service free.

The one thing we do with your contact details

If you tick the box asking for quotes, we share your name, phone number, postcode and job details with up to 3 local tradespeopleso they can quote. That is the entire list. No marketing lists, no data brokers, no “carefully selected partners”.

If you never tick that box, your contact details are never collected at all: the diagnosis works without them.

How long we keep things

Diagnosis inputs and lead details are kept for up to 12 months so we can handle follow-ups and disputes, then deleted. Ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.

Your rights

UK GDPR gives you the right to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, and to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you think we have got something wrong. One email to hello@whatthefix.co.uk starts any of those.
