Baxi boiler showing E133
E133 means the gas supply was interrupted or ignition failed. Check the meter and the weather before you pay anyone.
What it actually means
E133 is Baxi's ignition lockout: the boiler could not light, or the flame went out, five times in a row.
Very often the boiler is fine and the gas stopped arriving: an empty prepayment meter, an interrupted supply, or a frozen condensate pipe in winter.
Try this first, before you spend a penny

Check the meter
Prepayment meter out of credit is the number one cause. Also check the emergency control valve by the meter is fully open.

Check other gas appliances
If the hob lights, gas is flowing and the fault is at the boiler end.

Winter? Thaw the condensate pipe
Warm water along the outside pipe, then press reset.

Reset once
If it locks out again straight away, stop there.
Safety line, not small print
Never open the boiler case yourself. If you can smell gas, stop and call 0800 111 999 first.
When it is a pro job
Gas flowing, pipe not frozen, still locking out: engineer time. Ignition electrodes and flame sensing parts wear, and they live inside the case.
